Wood Industry Supervisory Skills Development Program - June 11 - 12, 2008.

This program has been designed to offer wood manufacturers a specialized training program to increase the supervisory skills of their managers. Content was determined from industry feedback to cover managerial topics that are critical for today’s hardwood industry managers.

Hardwood Lumber Grading - March 10 - 13, 2008.
This short course is designed to benefit anyone involved in the lumber industry who needs a basic understanding of hardwood lumber grades, including those who edge or end trim lumber, graders, sawyers, lumber buyers, rough-mill managers, and other personnel. This course will cover and explain the NHLA hardwood lumber grades and will offer extensive hands-on grading of hardwood lumber (cherry, red oak, white oak, hard maple, soft maple, hickory, and ash). Hardwood Log Grading - April 14 -16, 2008.
This workshop is designed to benefit anyone in the lumber industry who needs a basic understanding of hardwood log grades, including log quality control inspectors, sawyers, private landowners, sales managers, and other personnel. Basic Kiln Drying Operators Short Course - May 12 -15, 2008.
This is a basic course designed for kiln operator trainees, plant managers, and supervisors. No Previous drying experience or training is necessary. Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on experience. Wood moisture relations, kiln operation, and drying schedule preparation will be emphasized in relation to drying of hardwood lumber. Advanced Kiln Drying Workshop - May 16, 2008.
This one-day workshop on kin drying of lumber is geared toward individuals who have completed a basic kiln-drying operators short course and/or who have significant kiln operating experience and wish to supplement their training in dry kiln operation. Wood Structure and Identification Workshop - August 12 - 14, 2008.
